Factors that influence fatigue:

  • Stress
    • Fear of not being good enough
    • Fear of being replaced
  • Diet
  • Sleep
  • Time management

 

How to deal with it:

  • Eat right
  • Arrange your work area
  • Keep hydrated
  • Rest more often
  • Allow more time to do things
  • Budget your time better, no procrastination
  • Daily to do list
  • Limit outside commitments on work days
  • Listen to music during the day
  • Avoid caffeine
  • Get regular exercise
  • Medication to improve sleep

 

Environmental aspects that may help:

  • Work too many hours per week
    • Not enough days off to recover
    • Too long shifts
  • Canteen to sell salad and/or vegetables
  • Longer leave periods e.g. over December holidays
  • Flu or illness may cause them to be not 100% and a time to recover
  • Better planned jobs leads to less stress for an employee
  • Allow time for a worker to prepare and clean the area where he works
  • Encourage team sports e.g. a soccer team or touch rugby team that represent the company
